The Sharjah Book Authority has come up with an innovative reading marathon in the unprecedented time of the epidemic COVID-19. The SBA has announced the launch of Sharjah Virtual Reading Festival which will open its digital eyes on May 27, 2020, to June 5 2020. This is being vouched as a cultural initiative to promote Islamic culture and religion.

Sharjah Virtual Reading Festival

A community of acclaimed writers and authors worldwide will connect virtually Sharjah Virtual Reading Festival 2020. They will roll out their pieces of poetry sessions, creative culture and workshops along with e-books and other books to encourage reading Islamic culture.

This launch is proof that SBA is reinforcing its role as a promoter and cultural institution of Islamic culture and tradition. It strongly supports and upholds that the most useful way to expand the knowledge base and learn new avenues of culture is by reading books. SBA believes that by organising such festivals, the community will come together in such times of global health crisis.

This virtual book festival is completely in sync with the security norms that UAE is following of social distancing and stay at home. The Sharjah Virtual Reading Festival will make the community more productive while they are at their homes in this hour of the disease outbreak.

This 10 days long extravaganza will feature a huge list of cultural and literary sessions from Arabic and other international authors. Its target is all age groups and nationalities of many communities.
